Our Masses
You are most welcome to come and celebrate Mass with us here at St Joseph’s. We celebrate daily Mass at 10am from Monday to Saturday, and we have four Sunday Masses (including a Vigil Mass on Saturday evening). Each of our Sunday Masses has a unique character shaped by different music and traditions

Sunday 11.30am Mass
Our 11.30am Mass is our most traditional Mass, sometimes called the Solemn Mass. The St Joseph’s Schola Cantorum, under the direction of our Director of Music, leads the congregation in singing traditional hymns and choral favourites, as well as prayers in Latin and Greek.
Sunday 5.30pm Mass
Our Sunday evening Mass incorporates contemporary Christian praise and worship music led by our wonderful choir. Many of our young people from the Friends of Acutis Youth Group attend this Mass.

Monday to Saturday 10am Daily Mass
Our 10am daily Masses have a quiet but spiritual atmosphere, with a strong sense of community and are followed by the recitation of the Rosary in our Lady Chapel for those that wish to do so. On Thursdays, Eucharistic Adoration takes place after the 10am Mass ending with Benediction at 19:50.
How to get involved in the Mass
There are many ways in which you can lend your God-given talents to support and enrich our Masses. You might consider becoming a Reader, Welcomer, Altar Server, Children’s Liturgy Leader, or joining our music ministry in one of our many choirs/music groups.
Extra-Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are chosen by the Parish to assist with the distribution of Holy Communion where necessary at Masses and to those who are housebound or in care homes. If you know of anyone who you think might be suitable for this role, please do give their name to either the Parish Office, Fr Uche or Deacon John-Simon.

Completing a Mass Offering envelope, which you will find at the back of the church, with details of your Mass intention and posting the envelope through the Presbytery letterbox or putting it in with the Sunday collection.
emailing: newmaldenmassintentions@rcaos.org.uk
We recommend requesting a date at least two months in advance.
You can enclose your donation in the Mass Offering envelope or make an online donation by bank transfer, referencing it accordingly.

Altar Servers
Our Altar servers support Father Uche during the celebration of Mass to ensure the smooth running of the Mass. Anyone who has made their First Holy Communion is eligible to become an altar server.
Children’s Liturgy
Our Children’s Liturgy runs during the 9.30am Sunday Mass. Parent volunteers lead the children in activities which bring the week’s readings and Gospel to life, helping them to engage in the liturgy in an age-appropriate way.
Extra-Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extra-Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist with the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass, and some also take Communion to the sick and housebound at home or hospital as needed.
Readers
Our readers play an important role in proclaiming the Word of God at Mass, working together as a team to read at Masses on a rota basis.
Welcomers
Our welcomers play a vital role in supporting the Mass. They welcome parishioners and visitors, distributing Mass sheets and hymn books, taking the collections, directing the congregation during Communion, and handing out newsletters at the end of Mass. Our welcomers are also on hand to talk to anyone who is new to the parish or who wants to know something.
