Parish Appeal for Volunteers

Here at St Joseph’s we are blessed with a great number of volunteers offering catechesis, flower arrangers, ushers, money counters etc.  However, every now and then, because of people’s situations changing, or moving away, etc,  we need to request for more parishioners to play an active part in the life of our parish.

USHERS

We always welcome more ushers at all Masses, but the need is greater at the Sunday 5.30pm Mass at the moment.  If you attend this Mass, or any of the others, then please consider offering your services (only once a month if there are enough volunteers), to greet people, give out hymn books and help with the Offering Procession.  Having someone greet you as come into church is usually very much appreciated. 

CHILDREN’S LITURGY

We need some more parents to help with this fun but vital part of our children’s faith-building.  It takes place during the Sunday 9.30am Mass and provides our younger children with some of their first catechesis before they are old enough to make their First Holy Communion, etc.  Please see the colourful posters and speak to one of the leaders - Emma & Arlene - at that Mass. 

COUNTERS

We would also appreciate one or two extra people to help with counting the Sunday Collection.  This is usually done on a Monday morning and each team of two is only on duty once a month.  Please contact the Parish Office if you have a couple of hours to spare once a month. 

FLOWER ARRANGERS

We currently have 3 or 4 teams, usually working on a Friday or Saturday, to arrange flowers for the church, taking in turns.  They also provide arrangements for special occasions, such as our First Holy Communion Masses and Confirmation Masses.
